Hi, my name is Dino. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my channel. It's all done for fun, but I hope you enjoy my videos and maybe even learn a thing or two.
I'm into making home brew beer. I've made beer with kits, like the Coopers and Mangrove Jack's beer kit range, but I also like to create my own Homebrew recipes from scratch using malt extract and adding steeped grains and trying different yeasts and hops for flavour and aroma etc. In the last few years I have been All Grain Brewing.
Also on my channel I have videos from car shows I attend and a few about xbox gaming. Enjoy the channel and please subscribe if you like what you see. Cheers Dino

Original Kegland recipe - web.brewfather.app/share/Z7qEVXJTQ3C6b6 The main tweaks I made to the recipe above were - 1) Used Gladfield Golden Oats in place of Big O malted Oats (adds a bit of extra sweetness and that slightly orange hue) 2) Added the coconut post boil at 80C and let it stand for 15 mins. I also used the equivalent of twice the amount suggested in the original recipe (I used 100g...

Nice truck. What size are the wheels?
Sorry. I don't know. Just filmed it at a car show quite a few years ago now.
@@tubedinoz thanks!
@@jesusreynoso3084Agree that it's a great looking truck. Cheers
My mouth is watering. Wish I could taste that brew when it’s ready.
Thanks. This turned out pretty good. I brewed this towards the end of last year. Here's a tasting of the finished beer if you're interested. Cheers 🍻 ua-cam.com/video/Ni89E0CSNgA/v-deo.htmlsi=k5YR7hNQ3OpMydea
Lobby full of rookie bots. Good job, tho
Haha true about the bots. Thanks for stopping by. 👍🏻
Nice little update, might make your fortune before UA-cam does 🤣. Stay safe and well, SIR, cheers, Schnuz.
@@Schnuz Thanks mate. If I can find a few gold sovereigns I might be able to retire 😂
Very cool!
Thanks mate. Cheers
Nice find Dino. Cheers!🍺
Thanks Skid. Always a good day when I find any silver coins. Cheers

That cleaned up really nicely. Cheers😎👍
@@finnroohomebrewing1846 Thanks mate. Cheers
Nice one Dean. I'm still thinking about getting one!
Thanks Roy. I really enjoy just getting out and exploring, even if I don't find much, if anything of value. I imagine there should be some good old areas around your way. Let me know if you want any advice on detectors. All boils down to your budget. Mines around the $800 mark, but came with both the 8 and 12 inch coils. Cheers
Looks nice mate, interesting mix for sure🤙
Thanks mate. I was happy to get those Anzac biscuit flavours coming through. I hope the detecting is going well. Cheers 🍻
10 yrs later im watching this bc my samsung tab s9 kept "charging" with the controller instead of letting me play
Oh no. No idea why that's happening. Maybe a faulty port? Hard to tell. Anyway thanks for watching this many years down the line. Cheers
Beautiful looking beer that. I’m sure it tastes as good as it looks too. Cheers.
Thanks mate. Pretty happy with how it tastes. Cheers 🍻
Sounds a really good beer mate, Great review Dino enjoy Cheers \_/
Thanks mate. There's probably an equivalent biscuit in the UK. Cheers
Good one Dino! I'm wondering how a beer like this would taste if crushed Anzac Biscuits were used in the mash, either by themselves or as an addition to the recipe as it currently stands. Lovely color. Nice head retention and lacing. Cheers! 🍺🍻
Thanks Skid. Most of the flavours of the biscuit are already there, but I can't see why adding biscuits wouldn't make the beer even better! I've heard of people doing something like this with other beers. Cheers 🍻
@@tubedinoz 🍺
Great stuff, mate. It sounds like a winner to me. I find the same thing with coconut - it’s more prominent at warmer temperatures. It was to hear how you used it. I’m interested to try using it in a dark beer at some point. I wonder if sabro hops would help the coconut flavour pop a bit more too. Cheers!
Thanks mate. That's a great idea using Sabro as the hop addition. It could well work to accentuate the coconut. No reason you couldn't do an extract version of this and do a mini mash / steep of the non base malts. Cheers
@@tubedinoz Sounds like a plan for next April 👍🏻
Looks like a nice beer Dean, well done
Thanks Roy. Hope you're keeping well. Any new brews on the go at the moment?
@@tubedinoz For sure, I've got a California Common, AKA Steam Beer on the go. Looking forward to trying it. If it turns out OK, I'll send one your way.
That sounds great Roy. I always wanted to try the Anchor Steam beer. It's a shame the brewery closed down. Thanks for the offer of a bottle of your beer. Sounds great! Cheers 🍻
That beer looks amazing in the glass, oats give it a creamy looking head 👌 anyway Great vid deano 🍻
@@GezBeerReviews Thanks mate. It's definitely a beer I'll brew again for sure. Cheers 🍻
Very nice looking beer . Looks like you did a great job. I checked the original recipe . So did you only put 50 gms of golden syrup for your half batch. ? Ive used it before but add 1 kg lol. Maybe i could use half that. Cheers mate.😎👍
@@finnroohomebrewing1846 Thanks mate. I used 100gms of golden syrup. Personally that was a good amount for me. Cheers
Cool, video. I couls see using an old phone to load up a bunch or retro arcade roms. The only negative about this setup is that bluetooth must be used which can have latency issues. Some controllers are better than others though.
Thanks. It's good fun for sure. Nice having a bigger screen and controller. Be good to play some other old school games too. Cheers
It's my favourite of all the 'mainstream' stouts. Nice bitterness, not overly complex but still with nice stout flavours. It's great value as well in the long neck.
Great to hear. It's totally a classic! Cheers mate 🍻
why in hell do only half the brew, how can you tell what the brew is really like, thats why they have instructions in or on the can!!!!!
I never set out to brew this beer exactly as per the instructions. I explained in the video that I only do half batches of beer. Apart from the increased bitterness, which placed it more into IPA territory, there was nothing wrong with the beer as such. I swapped out the kit yeast for a better yeast. Added additional hops and also by brewing a half batch, I didn't need to pad out the malt base with additional dry or liquid malt extract. Cheers
great! I just need to get some alligator clips! thanks
Nice one. Should be fairly easy to get hold of the clips. Most hardware stores should have them. Hope it works out well for use. Cheers
Use by date ? How long before no good ? But, I agree great stout & even better than guiness.
Sorry, I filmed this back in 2022. I can't recall the use by date, but stouts are good for at least a year in the can, if not more. Thanks for watching. Cheers 🍻
Guinness is it's own thing, for me. The Guinness draught at least. The guiness extra stout is more comparable, but coopers has just a bit 'more' of everything. It's my favourite.
@@Tasmanaut I'm on a 375ml stubbie of Cooper's extra stout right now after a 440ml can of Guiness stout. Have to agree that Coopers is a superior brew.
@@coconuciferanuts339 the Guinness draught cans are great as a session brew, but they're light on flavour. They're the opposite of what people imagine they are. If you drink Guinness, people assume its bitter and stouty and strong. It's actually creamy and watery. Coopers best extra is what Guinness haters think a Guinness is, lol. The Guiness extra stout in the long neck is worth a try, it's similar to coopers, just bit less bitter and bit less of roasty malt flavours. BWS have a deal atm where you can get any 3 longnecks for $22, it's worth picking up the Guinness extra and the coopers to compare. Cascade export stout is also worth a comparison.
@@coconuciferanuts339 The Guinness cans are good as a session beer, they're smooth, creamy and watery. The Coopers extra is what people imagine Guinness is. It's more bitter, stronger, more roasted malts. The Guinness foreign export stout longnecks are worth a comparison, though. They are more similar to the coopers, though in my opinion, not quite as good. Cascade export stout is also worth a mention. BWS has a deal where you can mix any 3 longnecks for $22, worth a try if you want to compare them.
Looks like a nice beer, and NZH--111 sounds like a promising hop. It'll be interesting to see what name they give it. Great review. Cheers Dino!🍺
Thanks Skid. A beer probably better suited to your Summer. I'll definitely keep my eyes open to see if this hop becomes available to homebrewers. Hope all is well with you. Cheers mate 🍻
@@tubedinoz 👍😎🍺
Thank you, man with New Zealand Accent, much help! Thanks!
@@Departmentofelitegaming No problem. I'm glad the video helped you out. 👍🏻😊
Looks good I love a nice pilsner great job on the review cheers 👍🍻
Thanks mate. I've never used Green Bullet hops, but this beer has me thinking about using them. Cheers 🍻
Thanks for the review. Will keep an eye out for this one when it becomes available to us homebrewers. I've tried all the previous NZ trial hops, all of which certainly have their own character and a place for sure, but I must admit... the classic premium NZ hops (Nelson, Riwaka etc) still stand out amongst the crowd, and even among these relative new comers, for me anyway.... so far. But, I'm always keen to try out new contenders! This one, based on your description actually sounds like it might serve better as a local alternative to traditional UK offerings like Fuggles, EKG etc... hence, rather than hopping a pilsner, it might actualy be a good addittion to an English bitter/IPA or golden ale? - all of which I brew from time to time. Thoughts? Cheers!
Thanks Ian. It's definitely got nice noble hop qualities with that subtle citrus edge I mentioned. Could see it working in a number of styles, including the ones you mentioned. I could see a golden ale being a good choice to go with. Something with a lightish malt body to help the hops shine through. Cheers 🍻
Great info, mate. It sounds perfect for a more traditional Pilsner, so yes, different from the NZ Pilsners that we’ve seen over the past few years. Looks like a great beer. Cheers!
Thanks. You're bang on. It's a lot more subtle for sure, but very nice flavours. It's possible there's already breweries in Australia playing around with the hop. Cheers 🍻
Good on ya Dino, will keep an eye out for that one
Thanks mate. Well worth a try. Cheers 🍻
Good review Dinoz, looks very light in colour for a NZ Pilsner, some light Pilsner malt? I liked the Hort 9099 Lemon 🍋 Lime and notes of hay, I made a very good NZ Pilsner from that. Would be interesting to compare the new NZH111 with Hort 9099.
Thanks mate. I'm not sure if I've had a beer with Hort9099 in it, but I'm liking the description of it. Hopefully we can both get our hands on the new NZH111. Cheers 🍻
@@tubedinoz yeah Hort9099 come out the same time as Nectaron, but Hort9099 never made it big. I really liked it it was a tasty hop by it's self in a smash NZ Pilsner.
Looked like a cracker Dino, I have had the pleasure of trying this beer also and it was a rippa! Cheers Dino hope you and Sharon are well. 🍻🍻
Thanks Mike. Any chance you might be able to brew with it? Hope you guys are all good mate. All good this end. Cheers 🍻
I’ve seen a few blokes doing this on FB. I look forward to the tasting vid and how good are home made Anzac biscuits cheers mate

Sounds fantastic! Thanks for sharing both recipes. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Sort of reminds me of a beer recipe I made up last fall called Fall & Oats that I wanted to taste like a granola bar, which also used a clean West Coast yeast like the Anzac. Turned out nice. May brew it again this year with a couple adjustments. Cheers!🍺
Thanks Skid. Fingers crossed a lot of the flavours of the biscuit come through. Fall and Oats sounds great! Did you do a video of it by any chance? Hope you guys are keeping well. Cheers mate 🍻
@@tubedinoz Yeah doing well thanks, hope you guys are too. Fall & Oats instead of Hall & Oats 😆🤣No brewday footage but I still have several bottles left keeping nice and cool in the beer fridge so maybe I'll film the brewday for the next one and do a side by side tasting video, in the fall of course!
@@Skid-Baxter Haha. Hall and Oates. They were big back in the day! Enjoy brewing up the latest version. 🍻
@@tubedinoz 🍺🍻
Sounds fantastic, mate. How long did it take to get the rest of the wort out of the kettle? A freshly baked Anzac biscuit is hard to beat. Cheers!
Thanks mate. I ended up picking up the boiler and tipping it directly into the hop spider. Not ideal, but needs must haha. Cheers 🍻
@@tubedinoz That was exactly what I thought you would need to do!
Very nice sounding beer. Look forward to hearing how it turns out. Cheers 🍻
Thanks mate. I'm hoping all the flavours come together nicely. Cheers 🍻
Looks like a nice brew Dean, I might have to try it. Cheers Roy.
Thanks Roy. Keen to see how it turns out. Cheers 🍻
Very nice. I don’t think I’ve had a beer with fresh hops before. Cheers 🍻
Definitely worth a try. You'll only see them on the shelves for a small time around March/April after the annual hop harvest. Might still be a few lurking around. Cheers 🍻
Brewing a beer using homegrown hops is so cool. Thanks for detailing some of the differences between fresh hops and pellets in the final product. Cheers!
It's definitely a cool experience using hops you've grown yourself. I did it for a few years, but then for some reason stopped. Need to look at getting another rhizome perhaps. Cheers mate 🍻
@@tubedinoz what variety did you grow?
Danscade. A cross between an unknown wild hop variety and cascade. Here's a quick brew day video if you're interested. Cheers ua-cam.com/video/HNZxkG7L6Gg/v-deo.htmlsi=DnhY4_q5ej5Mr4Lu

Thanks Skid. I think you've said before you're a fan of red ipas and this one from Roy definitely hit the spot. Cheers 🍻
Great review. I really enjoyed his harvest ale too. Great idea to put them in the whirl pool i think he got the most of what he had by doing that. Cheers Dinoz 😎👍
Thanks mate. It was a lovely drop alright. Great to hear you were able to taste it too. Cheers 🍻
Neat. Must be so much missing money eh. Inflation conspiracy?
Thanks. Hopefully I can find lots more of it. A gold sovereign would be nice haha. Cheers mate
From memory it was around 350 grams of fresh hops in the whirlpool, I think it would benefit from a little more, but that's all I had. Maybe next year.
That's a decent amount of fresh hops for the whirlpool. It would have taken up quite a bit of space in your kettle. I can only imagine you'll get even more next year. I really enjoyed the beer as it is, but can see how you'd like to add more. It's been a while since I brewed my own fresh hop beer, but just looking back, I was using 500gm in a half batch. These were fresh hops I was able to get from my local homebrew shop. Unfortunately they aren't able to get them anymore at harvest time. It was a real pleasure to drink your beer Roy. Cheers 🍻
Glad you enjoyed it Dean, I think it's one of the better recipes I've put together. Cheers.
Thanks Roy. I'd definitely earmark it for a rebrew. Cheers 🍻
Nice 😎, stay safe and well, SIR, cheers, Schnuz.
Thanks Schnuz. Good to get out in the sun while I can. Cheers
That looks like an absolute banger. Red IPA is a style I’ve only recently begun to really enjoy and when it’s done well, it’s delicious. Cheers!
Thanks mate. Can you get Gladfield malt where you are? You could easily add some Shepherd's Delight to a base kit and turn it into a very nice red ale/ipa. 8-10% Max of Shepherd's Delight is a good ball park. I've used it a few times and you don't want to use anymore than that. Cheers 🍻
@@tubedinoz Thanks for the tip. I’m not sure if my LHBS stocks it but I can definitely order it online.
@@hefsbeerreviews4127I've never used it myself, but Red X malt could be another option. I think you can use that in much higher percentage of your total. Cheers
Thanks, Dino . I'm stoked you enjoyed the beer👍
